PLEASE NOTE: This version has reached "end of life" and no further updates will be made. There is a new version - "Satellite Tracker Plus3" - that runs on both the iPhone and iPad as well as providing additional functionality.

This version can be used to provide an insight into the basic functionality of that program but is limited to running as an iPhone oriented application.

Track satellites as they pass over your location. This application allows you to select any number of satellites and will show the track through the sky of the next pass(es) of each over your location. Frequency information can be added so you know how to tune into the signals. The satellite information is downloaded via the internet, and the iPhone GPS can be used to automatically track your location. Options allow the display of the sun and moon locations and the angle of the iPhone/iPod Touch to indicate to guide where to point your antenna. This application is primarily intended for those who use the Amateur Radio satellites but weather and other satellites can also be tracked.

I am not an amateur radio enthusiast but can see myself playing around with this app a great deal during camping season. Thanks so much to the developer. Worth the download. Not high on graphics but lots of info. Currently watching stats on Gloabalstar01 satellite - travelling at 7.1 km/sec at an altitude of 1515.81 km - are you freakin kidding me? Thats cool. 4 stars for the app and a bonus star cause its free.

I really like thise app but maybe world map would be great to see the satelite path plus every time i press prefferenses it crashes update would be awesome :)

This app. isnt just for the radio enthusiest. If youre out camping or live in a rural area you can watch satellites cross the sky. This app. will help you do that. It is finiky though. If you select too many satellites or just one the app. doesnt like, the app. will crash and you will need to reinstall it to get it running again. Its a cool app. based on Geek-Factor but of little practical value to many people. I would also suggest reporting any bugs to the developer rather than simply posting complaints here. While reviews inform potential users of the functionality and value of the features, bug reports inform the developer of problems so they can be resolved quickly and enhance the product.

This is really good, its just a bit complicated. Automatic location finder for I touch would make it even better.

I never played with amateur satellites until I downloaded this app. I actually used this app on my iPhone to help me make my first ham satellite contact. Also it doesnt crash for me at all. I use backgrounder on it when Im using it on a contact... If the phone sleeps I can get back to the same screen fast that way. 5 stars!

Some bad moments

Yes,i like the Programm but it crashes everytime i hit the preference button. how to update the TLE ? Would be nice to have the sun +Moon as default on the skychart which supports better orientation.

It would be the best App for HamRadio-Operators working Satellites. Please do some Updates - thank you 

Sorry but I still have problems when I try to load the preferences.

This is the third update I downloaded and the application keeps crashing when I try to enter Preferences. Please test it on real devices, not just in an emulator.

Version 1.2 has not solved the crash problem as soon as the Preference button is pressed. I am using an iPod Touch 8 G and this is the only one application which behaves so bad. Absolutely useless, impossible to enter coordinates. Waiting for another 2 monthes? At least there are a number of paid options.
